The official website of Lonoke County, Arkansas — The Natural State

Every neighbor, every device

Accessibility

County government belongs to everyone. Here's how this site is built to include you — and how to reach us when it falls short.

Lonoke County wants every resident to be able to use this website — including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions. Access to county government is not a feature; it's the point.

Our standard

We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we've built in

  • Keyboard access — you can move through this site with a keyboard instead of a mouse. A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page jumps past the navigation, and links and buttons are reached by tabbing. Most items show a gold outline when your keyboard reaches them.
  • Screen-reader support — landmarks, skip links, labeled controls, and alternative text on meaningful images.
  • Color and contrast — color is never the only signal, and we work to keep text readable against its background. If one is easier for you to read, you can switch between the daylight and evening themes with the sun or moon button in the site header.
  • Motion settings respected — if your device sets reduce motion, animations, parallax, and seasonal effects switch off automatically.
  • Resizable text — the layout holds together at 200% zoom.
  • Plain language — county services explained the way a neighbor would, not the way a statute reads.

Known limitations

Parts of this site do not yet work well for everyone. Some problems affect people using a screen reader, a particular browser, or magnification. Others can affect anyone, whether or not you use assistive technology. We know about these problems and are working on them. Records you request from a county office may also come in a format that does not work with your assistive technology. If something here is hard for you to use, or you need information in another format, tell us using the contact details below.

Visiting in person
